CREDENTIALS:
I graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point as a member of the Class of 2006 with a degree in Military History. I have served in the Regular Army and the Army National Guard with combat deployments to the War in Iraq and the War in Afghanistan as well as military operations in the Australian Outback and South Pacific as well as the Republic of Mongolia. I used my Post-9/11 G.I. Bill to earn my Masters in Secondary Education from the University of Alaska in 2017.
As a professional military officer and West Point graduate I discovered Fishburne as an adult not far from my hometown of Port Republic, VA. Being one of the oldest and most traditional of the American military prep schools, I was drawn to the legacy and lore to be found here. No other school in the United States can boast 99 years of being a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and a 19th Century founding (1879) in the mold of West Point (1802) and VMI (1839). This school prepares young American boys to become leading American men with the honor and discipline of centuries past.
INTERESTS:
I collect antique, replica, and reproduction firearms from the 18th and 19th Centuries and I love shooting all of them. I am highly active in Living History and Reenactment circles including: single action cowboy shooting, the War Between the States, the War of the Revolution, and the Colonial Era of American History. For these reasons, Virginia is the place for me. I also enjoy reading about history and tactics in my spare time and teaching this Living American History whenever possible. I have been involved in the Boy Scouts of America for 26 years earning the Eagle Scout Medal, Outstanding Eagle Scout Medal, and Heroism Medal among others. Recently I got involved in the Civil Air Patrol as a new hobby. I am happy to be the father of many children whom I homeschool with my wife. My family is deeply involved in our church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and have been all over the world.
